I’d set up on the waterworn rocks near the base of the falls and initially took wide angles shots; trying to stay around 0.5 seconds shutter speed, which is usually my preference for waterfalls.  it had luckily rained earlier so the surrounding rocks and foliage were wet, which I think adds extra interest to waterfall scenes.
